As the mercury rises in the morning, the ice begins to melt and breathing becomes easy.
But then the doorbell rings.
We know the drill. We are breathing. But then we put our feet in the freezer for a few minutes and breathe again.
This entire process can take seconds. But every once in a while, if we take just a few seconds, we can let the ice settle over our toes and slowly exhale out the rest of the way.
Let’s pause.
This entire process is a form of guided meditating. When you are in the mindful state of the breathing and meditation, the cold begin to melt.
Let’s breathe again.
Let’s breathe out.
Let’s breathe in.
Let’s breathe out.
Repeat this until all the allergens have been overcome. Then, glance back at your stress-filled day in the light of morning. The aroma of coffee beans, roses, and grass clippings may have been a little bit harder to endure, but at least it’s there for a different time.
Happy holidays!
